experience for 400+ customers

A passion for doing the right thing and making it easier for their staff to make plant-friendly choices shines out in the employee restaurant at the company’s headquarters. Run by Restaurant Associates, the fine-dining division of Compass Group UK & Ireland, the Urban Cultivator XL takes centre stage to provide the catering team fresh microgreens and herbs every day for service. Charles Elliott, General Manager commented ‘At Compass we’re being transparent about where ingredients come from and sourcing responsibly to create a better experience for our guests, our community and the environment.’

Catering for 400 employees and visitors passing through the building daily, the produce grown on site is part of both the salad bar and fine-dining menus. The recent refit by restaurant design experts, RDA highlights the theatre provided by the Urban Cultivator; whether it’s choosing the fresh greens that you’d like to eat there and then or seeing the chefs harvesting at the point of service.division

Charles has appointed his latest apprentice to be custodian of managing the planting and cultivating process allowing all his team to be involved from the outset with the preparation, planting and use of their home-grown produce.
